The WCTS Annual Meeting 2018
The fourth WCTS Meeting was held on the 13th of October, 2018 at The Orangery, Margam Park, Port Talbot. Our sincere thank you to everyone who, despite the weather, attended the meeting and contributed to its success!
The meeting focused on defining and shaping specialised services in Wales with presentations from the executive teams from ABM UHB and UHW Cardiff. The meeting provided an opportunity for sharing ideas, exploring emerging technology with presentations on the Inspiris Resilia Valve and robotic lung resection, and insight into the management of anaemia and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for members to network with members of allied specialities.
The Honoured Iain Breckenridge Lecture, held in memory of the late Mr Iain Breckenridge, was delivered by Prof. Gianni Angelini, BHF Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the Bristol Heart Institute and the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.
