The WCTS Annual Meeting 2017 was a great success!
A warm and big thank you to everyone who attended the meeting and contributed to its success! The meeting provided an opportunity for members, staff and leadership to share ideas, learn from best practices, as well as explore future new ambitions for the Cardio-Thoracic service across South Wales.
A great strength of the annual meeting was the opportunity for members to network with other sister society members.
The Honored Iain Breckenridge Lecture, held in memory of the late Mr Iain Breckenridge, was delivered by Prof. John Pepper OBE, Director of Research and Consultant Cardiac Surgeon of the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College, London. His presentation on future techniques in surgery of the Thoracic Aorta with 3-D printing technology and presentations by speakers on topics covered over four sessions inspired discussion and a healthy exchange of ideas. The energy at the meeting was palpable and the pictures below highlight this well.
Congratulations to Mr Aidil Syed-Nongcheck for winning the poster competition and the prize of a round trip to attend the next EACTS meeting in 2018.
